TRAINING OUR EARS
THE WHY
This is one of the hardest facets of being a musician. But once mastered, it will make you one of the easier ones to play with, especially in your preparation and improvised moments.
INTRO & THE WHY
INTERVALS
We discuss the sound, tone, and visualization of intervals, such as the octave, major thirds, and perfect fifths. Hearing it (but also seeing it) will train you to pick it out in guitar parts in your preparation for Sundays.

CHORD PROGRESSIONS
Watch the video to help you not only hear the chords, but see how they relate to one another on the fretboard, plus a glimpse into how we use this to know a song without necessarily playing it.

TEST YOURSELF
Now it’s time to challenge yourself! Take your time. Use your ears and picture the movements of each progression like discussed using the key of G or C shapes. Then write down or guess its chord progression. Then check to see if you got it right. If not, just re-listen and hear those progressions again and picture the movement after then knowing the answer.
